Wear It Purple Day, held annually on the last Friday of every August, is a national movement that supports LGBTQIA+ youth and promotes safe, inclusive environments where everyone is free to be themselves.
To mark the day, our Spark North East Link D&C team introduced custom purple PPE – a visible symbol of support for diversity, inclusion and respect across the project.
While PPE protects us physically, this initiative is about psychological safety – reminding everyone on site that they are valued, regardless of sexuality, gender identity, beliefs or background.
Construction is about evolving. Inclusion on site leads to safer teams, better collaboration, and stronger outcomes for the communities we build for. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to creating a future where everyone has a place and a voice – in our workplaces, and in the world we help shape.
